LEGO® Star Wars 5000063 TC-14
The LEGO® Star Wars set 5000063 is an exclusive promotional set from 2012 featuring the rare TC-14 minifigure. It was released as part of the global LEGO® "May the 4th" promotion (May 4–7, 2012) – a free gift (GWP) with qualifying purchases of approx. €55 or more at LEGO Stores and the online shop. Each customer received one sealed polybag copy.
TC-14 is based on the protocol droid from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, who welcomes Jedi emissaries on behalf of the Trade Federation at the start of the movie. Her diplomatic demeanor, clearly distinct from C-3PO, gives the figure a unique character. LEGO deliberately embraced this to create a visually striking, fully chrome minifigure – a conscious collector's incentive rather than a mass-market item.
Listed under ID sw0385, TC-14 is exclusive to set 5000063. With its chrome finish and colorful highlights (red, blue, and white cables on the torso, yellow eyes), it ranks among the highest-quality LEGO Star Wars minifigures. As the last officially distributed chrome figure after C-3PO, Darth Vader, and the Stormtrooper, it marked the end of a unique LEGO era.
Today, the market value of sealed copies reaches up to €160 (as of 2025) – a true highlight for collectors and investors.
Production Background
LEGO strategically used the May 4th Star Wars promotion for limited-edition releases. TC-14 was part of a global marketing campaign with a clear focus on the collector market. By spotlighting a rare figure instead of a small set, LEGO hit the mark with its audience.
